Fun, Feisty and FRESH! The Nancy Skinner Show meets America where we voted in the last election. Nancy is a contemporary of President Obama. She ran against the future President for his Illinois Senate seat. He endorsed her Michigan congressional run. Talk about a direct line to The White House! Nancy hosted a weekday show for 8 years on WLS-AM Chicago. For the past decade Nancy has been a guest host and expert on: MSNBC, CNN, and FOX News. The Nancy Skinner Show will air 3PM - 6PM (EST), Monday through Friday.

“It's great to be back on the airwaves after my forays into politics. Losing to POTUS turns out to be pretty cool and since I am his biggest fan, it's kinda like being on the "teams of rivals", only on radio. Turns out that I'm back on the air in a very important time in our country's history and I'm looking forward to a national conversation with Americans of all stripes.”
- Nancy Skinner

Mike Newcomb, MD is a former gubernatorial candidate and physician who cares for the elderly and the poor. His brand of “freedom fighting, liberty loving and truth telling” radio has taken Phoenix, AZ by storm. After only his first year on the air Mike was selected as the “Best Radio Talk-Show Host” in Phoenix. Doctor Mike has appeared nationally on MSNBC, C-SPAN AND FOX News and has written opinion pieces for one of America’s largest newspapers, The Arizona Republic. The Mike Newcomb Show will air from 6PM - 9PM (EST), Monday through Friday.

“Martin Luther King once said, ““In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”” With the On Second Thought Radio Network our friends need not be silent anymore.”
- Mike Newcomb

Continuing on the network will be America’s original “truth-seeker” Mike Malloy. The Mike Malloy Show will continue to broadcast live Monday through Friday, from 9PM - Midnight (EST).

“Hey, Truthseekers, Just a quick note from your humble and obedient (ha-ha) servant. I am pleased to let you know the Malloy program continues. Same time, same station, same Web-cast, same satellite availability. Nothing changes while everything does, as my tai chi instructor says. Anyway, we're here and we'll continue with the most intense, factual, hell-raising liberal talk in the nation. Keep it lit.”
- Mike Malloy

Nearly 5 million are getting unemployment benefits; Wholesale prices jump unexpectedly

AP Photo
WASHINGTON (AP) - The number of laid-off workers receiving unemployment benefits has jumped to an all-time high near 5 million while new jobless claims remain well above 600,000. Both figures were worse than expected and new projections from the Federal Reserve show unemployment rising for the rest of this year. The Labor Department reported Thursday that the number of people receiving regular unemployment benefits rose 170,000 to 4.99 million for the week ending Feb. 7, marking the fourth straight week those receiving benefits have been at a record level on data going back to 1967.

California Assembly joins Senate in approving long-awaited budget, goes to gov for signature

AP Photo
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The California Legislature passed a long-awaited budget early Thursday after an epic battle that involved several all-night sessions, sending the governor a bill that raises taxes and cuts spending to help close a $42 billion deficit. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, praised the bill, passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate and Assembly. He came out of his office after the budget vote and disconnected a large deficit clock counting the number of days - 106 as of Thursday - that the Legislature had failed to act since he declared a special session to deal with the state's fiscal problems.

JERUSALEM (AP) - Far-right politician Avigdor Lieberman endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu for Israeli prime minister on Thursday, all but guaranteeing that the U.S.-educated hawk will be the country's next leader. Lieberman emerged as kingmaker when Netanyahu's Likud and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni's centrist Kadima Party - which leads the outgoing government - came out of the Feb. 10 election deadlocked and Lieberman's Yisrael Beitenu party placed third.

Clinton says US concerned about possible succession crisis in North Korea

AP Photo
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday that North Korea's leadership situation is uncertain and the United States is worried the Stalinist country may soon face a succession crisis to replace dictator Kim Jong Il. Clinton said the Obama administration is deeply concerned that a potential change in Pyongyang's ruling structure could raise already heightened tensions between North Korea and its neighbors as potential successors to Kim jockey for position and power.

VIENNA (AP) - Think of it as a galactic garbage dump. With a recent satellite collision still fresh on minds, participants at a meeting in the Austrian capital this week are discussing ways to deal with space debris - junk that is clogging up the orbit around the Earth. Some suggest a cosmic cleanup is the way to go. Others say time, energy and funds are better spent on minimizing the likelihood of future crashes by improving information sharing.

Israeli tennis player Andy Ram granted entry to UAE to play in Dubai tournament

AP Photo
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Israeli tennis player Andy Ram will be allowed to play in a premier Dubai tennis tournament after the Arab country said it would permit the 7th-ranked doubles player to enter the country. The Persian Gulf country banned Israeli woman's tennis star Shahar Peer earlier this week from entering the UAE to participate in the lucrative Dubai Tennis Championships. Organizers said they feared fan anger over Israel's recent military offensive in the Gaza Strip would spill into riots in the Arab country if Peer were to play.
